Chronicles - by Jean Froissart
Jean Froissart’s Chronicles (written c. 1370–1400) are one of the most important narrative sources for 14th-century Europe, especially the Hundred Years’ War between England and France. A cleric, poet, and courtier, Froissart traveled widely, collecting eyewitness accounts from knights, nobles, and courtiers. His work covers wars, tournaments, diplomacy, and chivalric culture from roughly 1322 to 1400, with particular attention to battles like Crécy, Poitiers, and the exploits of the Black Prince.
